This was our second cruise with Gertrude Byrnes All Star Irish cruise. As far as we are concerned, it doesn't get much better than a week filled with a cast of all star Irish entertainers throughout each day! The music starts when you are checking in at the port terminal and never stops - goes until 2-3 in the morning! Some of the stars I remember were Daniel O'Donnell, Jimmy Buckley, John McNicholl, Brendan Shine, George Casey, Kevin Collins, Michael English, Trish O'Brien, Annette Griffith, Dominick Kirwan, The Irish Sopranos, and the Celtic Tenors and many more too many to mention! The Westerdam is a beautiful ship and has top notch staff and service. We were in 5103, a balcony cabin and loved the location. The decks are a bit smaller but wasn't a problem to us. We ate at the Pinnacle Grill for lunch and a supper and for La Cirque - all well worth the cost! The food was good in all the venues.

We enjoyed the ports at San Juan, Nassau, St. Martens (did the art tour and gave a good island overview), and Half Moon Cay. The only part we did not enjoy was the Fort Lauderdale airport. We were there at 8 A.M. and had a 3:15 flight. You are not allowed to go through security until 2 hours before your departure. We flew Southwest. Fortunately we had signed up for luggage direct so were hauling our bags with us but there was totally inadequate seating and only one kiosk in the ticketing area. After security, the gate situation was even more crowded - it took almost an hour to use the bathroom. Long food lines and many sitting on the floor! Not fun!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Cabin VA

Great location. Quiet and near the central elevators which have 6 operating so easy to get one. The deck is a little smaller but we don't lay out on our balconies so not a problem. We were able to open up and connect with stateroom 5101. Great room stewards and very attentive!
