This is my third cruise however my first 7 nights on Royal Caribbean. WOW! Very impressive ship. The new terminal in Port Canaveral was well organized and check-in was a breeze! Walked right onto the ship at approximately 11:00am. First things first find a Bloody Mary to start the day off - Check! My husband and I purchased the Premium Drink Package and found that we definitely got our moneys worth! Drinks are pricey but we didn't have to worry about it one bit. You could drink as much or as little as you wanted. I even requested the good liquors too. Since we had some time before getting into the room we went exploring the ship. WOW! Very impressive ship. It's like a city on water. Around 1:30pm we heard that the luggage was in the rooms so we decided to get unpacked so we could get back to wave goodbye. The rooms are actually very nice and roomy enough for two people. We had an interior cabin on Deck 9 middle of the ship. Hubby had wanted a balcony room but talked him into saving the dollars and put towards the drink packages. The shower is very small but the water pressure was great. I would suggest bringing hangers as there are only 5-6 in the well spaced closet. We had requested the beds be pushed together and this made one very nice king bed. The beds themselves were heavenly! VERY comfortable. We did find a comfy quilt/comforter located under the bed and later that evening the steward placed it in a duvet cover. Every evening while we were at dinner the steward would prepare our room for a good nights sleep - including towel critters. So back to the back of the ship to wave goodbye to Florida. The muster drills are so much better than they used to be. You go to a designated area indicated on your ship card and listen to a 15-20 minute presentation and that's it. I've read some different reviews about the bars on the ships taking so long to serve you. There are so many bars around you don't have to wait too long, especially if you go to the bar right down from the one you are waiting at. The casino was great fun but the slot machines seemed to get a little tighter the last two nights of the cruise.

The actual first full day was Coco Cay, Bahamas (Royal Caribbean's private island). This is a beautiful place and quite large to where you could spread out a good several miles. You can also use your drink package at the bars located at Coco Cay. It was beautifully warm and sunny - perfect first destination. Dinner was at 8:00pm every night in the main dining room which was beautiful. We had a group of 15 so the dining staff graciously accommodated our table of 10 adding an extra table and chairs. The dining staff was outstanding!! The food was quite good (not fabulous) and the selection of choices were very nice. After dinner we would catch some of the late evening shows that we're quite entertaining. The next day was a full day at sea. We grabbed some pool chairs and set up our space for our group which is not an easy thing to do since you can't really "save" chairs. It all worked out and we drank, laughed at all the pool shows and had another glorious warm and sunny day. That afternoon we watched the kids play in a volley ball tournament which their team came in 2nd place! My son won the farthest shot on the golf simulator. Goony golf was fun too! The rock wall has some easy climbs and some tougher climbs. It was fun watching our adult friends make the climb as well. What a great day at sea!

The next morning we woke up to Falmouth Jamaica. We didn't have an excursion for this port but soon found that we needed something to do besides walk around all the shops inside the "wall". So we hired a van/cab and headed out side of the walls with Montego Bay as the destination. Our cab driver Louie showed us some beautiful places on the way however we also had the pleasure of driving through some of the "downtown" market streets where the locals wheel and deal their daily treasures. It's a VERY lively area with all the people and traffic. That was probably my favorite seeing the culture of the locals. Montego Bay if not staying in a 5 star resort is not all that. We wanted to see the "beach" so our cab driver took us to some little beach where we each had to pay $5 to get in and was a little disappointed in the "beach". However we did some walking around and found a beautiful area away from the crowds that was our own private space that opened up to the ocean of blue/green water. After a full day of sightseeing Jamaica it was back to the ship for free drinks (remember drink package)! Each night after dinner we would take a nice walk around the outer walkway of the ship (deck 4). This would also allow access to the very front tip of the ship "King of the World" style :) The moon or stars was always shining bright. Okay now back to another fun evening on the ship!
