We sailed of of Montego Bay and cruised Cuba. The ship is small but had big flavor with people from all over the world. We wanted to see Cuba before the big cruise ships and hotels invade the island and spoil the beaches and pristine water. The architecture is wonderful and they are trying to restore the old buildings in Havana. Taxi's are horse and buggy and are also the preferred mode of travel. The food on the ship was good. We ate in the dining room every day and I can't complain about the meals. The service was excellent. Being a small ship the amenities were not like a Princess ship, but we kept busy when we were on board. The entertainment was provided by very talented singers and dancers.
If you want a leisure cruise with 5 star room and food, go somewhere else. There are only a handful of balcony rooms. If you want a big luxurious room that you can lounge in instead of seeing the sights, this cruise is not for you. If, however, you want to learn about the culture and the people of Cuba, go inside a cigar factory and talk to the workers, walk the cobblestone streets and take a ride in a 1950-1960 convertible then this is the cruise for you. I would not hesitate to recommend this cruise. This is only the he 2nd year of this itinerary so they are still learning.
Small but comfortable. Room service was excellent.
