My 85 year old dad an I took a 10 day Eastern Caribbean (1/23/15) on Quantum and really enjoyed it. Sure, RCI is still working out a few bugs, but it is very obvious that they are working hard to do just that. Ship and cabin are beautiful. Dynamic dining worked fine for us, and the diversity of food was excellent. Embarkation and Disembarkation was very smooth. Entertainment was top notch. ALL personnel were friendly and helpful. Being a 51 year old nuclear engineer, the electronic stuff did not bother me, but many seemed bothered. The internet was amazing and free for our trip. I had no problem "facetiming" family, and downloading movies. The ship seemed to have cabinetry that creaked more than normal. The Diamond Club was great, and the concierge welcomed my dad every night and made him feel special (she called him papi). I noticed stupid stuff, like no queue at guest services....just a mob waiting for help from an iPad person, but when waited on they were great. Elevators were annoying. It took way too long to get an elevator, I understand that suite guests have a priority "prox" card to summon elevators, so normal humans have to wait. Please do not be put off by the other "whiny" reviews. Great Ship, Great Staff!! My dad has a rotten form of lung cancer, and this may be his last cruise. RCI made it VERY memorable, and I am indebted to them forever!!
Roomy cabin, everything worked great. Latch on door to balcony made noises during rough weather, but sound drowned out by dad's snoring!! We were upgraded from an interior virtual balcony room. The virtual balcony was cool.
