This cruise was a mess, with the previous cruise cut short 1 day because of Norovirus, and getting a super cleaning, you would think that they would be ready for the next one. While we were told to arrive later than normal, which we did, it took 2 hours to stand in line and check in and our rooms were still not ready! Muster was a joke, we had to stand outside for an extended period of time in freezing weather while the crew tried to locate people that were still boarding the ship. Many people had to carry their carry-on luggage to muster because their rooms weren't ready. There was no 'festive' atmosphere on board the entire cruise, the crew was too busy washing down everything constantly to have time to do the things you normally expect, like no towel animals or chocolates at night or singing, dancing, or magic tricks in the MDR the entire cruise. Every time you turned around someone was insisting on dumping a load of purel on your hands, all the chairs, tables, rails, etc were sticky or wet. I can understand this, but we had 3 couples along that this was their first cruise and they had us stressed out with their complaints the whole cruise. I didn't even know who the cruise director was until the 3rd day. The ports of call and weather there were great in my opinion,

Our friends who were on their first cruise, two of the couples had a room steward who was lousy, who claimed he was in training and didn't know anything when asked - where was his trainer? The other couple had a room adjoining ours and the last 2 days they got locked out of their room, their key card didn't work and our steward's card didn't either, so they had to put their luggage and items in our room for safe keeping - guest services said they couldn't fix it!! Then our hallway's rooms lost the ability to flush our toilets and maintenance said they couldn't fix the problem on the final day. All three couples said they will never cruise again. It was by far our worse one, but we had so many good ones before that we will go again, just be a while before we travel with Royal Caribbean.
