My husband and I had never cruised before and chose Norwegian due to its "Freestyle" dining option. We travel light and did not want to be faced with the added luggage and hassle of having to pack dressy clothes. We also wanted the flexibility of dining when and where we wished.

We were on the Norwegian Pearl in and inside stateroom #10613. This room was slightly aft but close enough to the stairs to make it convenient and close enough to midship to provide a less rough ride. Since the seas were rough, we were glad for this choice. We found that for attending the theatre or dining facilities it was only a few flights up or down.

We sailed out of Miami but had flown in and spent the previous night in Ft. Lauderdale at Days Inn Fort Lauderdale Hollywood/Airport South. We arranged a shuttle to the port with MJS Transportation and were very pleased with the efficiency. All went well at the port. We could have used a bit more in the way of direction from the port staff as to what line we were to get into but we waited our turn with all the rest.

Our stateroom was comfortable with two twin beds put together. Size of bedroom and bath were great, with a large amount of storage for clothes etc. Hand soap was supplied in a dispenser next to the sink. There was also a dispenser in the shower that contained shower gel and shampoo. We found the gel to not suds up much at all. No conditioner was provided. There was a pull out line for hanging things in the shower. Lighting was good. AC and heat worked well. Noise was minimal. Beds were wonderful with thick mattress toppers and fluffy pillows. Stewards came in several times a day to insure that the room looked fresh and new every time we returned.
