We are 2 women in our late 50s who like to cruise in the Caribbean to relax. Therefore we do not do a lot of excursions nor do we enjoy shows so I cannot comment on the quality of those. We went to New Orleans on Friday before the cruise on Sunday. We stayed at the Hampton Inn Warehouse District and it was literally on the other side of the convention center from where the ship docks. We parked at Fulton Garage for a prepaid amount of $8 a day. The hotel wanted $34 a day to park so we just parked at Fulton while at the hotel. There was only a small block with a park between the hotel and the garage so easy to walk back to the hotel after parking.

We had a nice room with two double beds and a fold out sofa. We booked this room almost a year in advance and at that time thought we might have a 3rd person. Therefore it gave us the corner room to accommodate the sofa bed. The room was huge and we liked the extra space. The room is showing some wear and tear but was clean which is what mattered.

We went to Antoine's and Emeril's for our two dinners. Both were good and both were expensive but worth it for a once every few years visit. We also went to the World War II museum. That is 4 huge buildings and frankly we could not see it all in the afternoon we were there. But it is wonderful and I would say it is a must see.

Cabin Review

Family Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SC

Great cabin with a decent second bedroom. The furniture was in good condition. All of the carpets were very clean. The cabin has 4 TVs total, one in the living area, one each in the bedrooms, and one in the master bath. There were super large towels in the master bathroom the size of beach towels. The master bed was extremely comfortable. They automatically put a foam topper on the bed in the smaller bedroom which makes it nice. We did not use the butler or concierge much as we are low maintenance but they were both easily available and checked on us. There is an outlet in both the master bathroom right next to the door to the living area and in the second bedroom near the bed. That made it easy for each of us to recharge our Nooks and cameras. The 2 lounge chairs on the balcony were newer since we cruised 2 years ago on this ship and much nicer and more comfortable. The master shower is wonderful with a full waterfall shower head, jets at waist level, and a hand held shower. There are 3 knobs so you only use the ones you want or all 3 if you wish. The 2nd bath has a nice size shower with a door. There are 2 safes so you can store more items or in our case, each of us had our own safe. Storage is good all over the cabin. A variety of snacks were brought in each afternoon ranging from chocolate dipped strawberries twice, sandwiches, typical canapés, and cake and cookies. You could ask for special stuff but we just let the butler bring whatever was on for the day.
