Ship is not being maintained . Mattress was lumpy and needed to be replaced. Shower curtain in the bathroom bottom third had pink mold along the hem line. We had to ask the attendant to change it as it was starting to get black spots on it by the 3rd day. Everything on the ship needs to be replaced. The lounge chairs are worn and sometimes have splits in the fabric. The fabric is faded with large black spots. There were ants living in the floor boards of the pool below the Serenity Lounge. A swarm of fruit flys were seen hovering over the banana bread at the Horizon Court buffet the last day of the cruise. Most days the clean towels were available on the pool decks. You were expected to bring the towels from your stateroom to the pool deck, so it was difficult to do a spontaneous dip in the hot tub or pool when there were not towels. There seemed to be a lack of staff to clean the ship. Did not see anyone cleaning bannisters, inside or out, elevator walls etc., as we have on other cruise lines. The chrome stands and signs are very salt encrusted to extent that some signs were hard to read.

The ship closes down at 11 p.m, other than the casino, and one lounge. The 24 hour Mediterranean cafe serves coffee and teas, pastries, sandwiches and a small selection of salads. However when the food runs out that is it. We were at the cafe at midnight and there was nothing left to eat other than a few left over pastries.

Beverage service of coffee, tea in the buffet areas was very quick. Staff quickly cleaned the tables, set out the napkins and cutlery . The coffee and tea cups were very quickly replenished however especially in the morning decaf and regular coffee came out of the same carafe. It made for amusing watching as the requested decaf was poured at one table, and regular coffee was poured at another.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BD

Mattress was lumpy. Shower curtain was moldy, had to ask attendant to change it. Bathroom still smelled moldy after this when the door was closed. We kept the door open when not in the cabin. When this was done no odor. Not sure why as no mold was spotted anywhere else. The chairs on the balcony and small table needed to be replaced because they were worn and very stained. A ship can be old but there is no excuse for not keeping up the maintenance. The balcony was slightly larger as it is angled and we could see all the way to the front. However if you like privacy, this is not the balconey for you as you see everyone looking out and when they turn to look to the back of the ship, they see you.
