This was our 2nd cruise with RCCL and first on the Mariner of the Seas. We traveled this time with 3 other couples (family) and we all booked rooms next to each other on the 10th floor, 1 GS and 2 JS, and one regular balcony room. The staff even opened our balcony doors so that we could move freely around from one room to the other after we left Port Canaveral.

Our transportation from the airport to the hotel at Cocoa Beach was a nightmare. Let me first tell you it was NOT booked thru the cruise line. We booked with Cocoa Beach Shuttle Service. DO NOT USE THEM! If you need more info about them, email me and I will elaborate.

ARRIVAL - We stayed Saturday night at the Hampton Inn at Cocoa Beach. The rooms were nice with view of the ocean and the staff was fabulous. Home made cookies in the afternoon as well as great free breakfast buffet the morning we left. The shuttle to the pier was on time and we arrived at the pier in about 15 minutes ready to start our vacation. Getting on the ship was a breeze. From getting off the bus to stepping on the ship, it took about 30 minutes. Be sure to fill out all forms, including the Bahamas Immigration Form before you get to the pier. If not, you have to get out of line, find a seat and fill out the forms. One of our couples had forgotten to fill the form out and we got separated, and therefore could not have our picture taken together when we stepped on the ship. Since we were all veteran cruisers, everyone was given a task when we got on the ship. One couple went to check out our table in the dining room, one went to make the reservation for Portifinos, 2 went to make the SPA reservations, and of course, one went to get us all the "Drink of the Day." We sat by the pool until our room was ready at l:30. Our junior suite was very spacious. We had previously stayed in a Balcony Stateroom on the AOS and were surprised at the difference in size, especially the balcony. The only complaint is that the hair dryer they supplied is rather old and I wished I had brought my own. The bathroom was nice with bathtub. We did notice that the hot water usually ran out after midnight and did not run hot again until around 6 a.m. in the morning. The bed was very comfortable and our stateroom attendant. Beautina, was great. I am a messy traveler and she went above and beyond picking up after me. My husband is a big "sit out on the balcony and read person", so he was happy with the comfortable lounge chair.
