I went on the three night sampler with 19 members of my family departing January 22, 2015. Many of us had booked the "ultimate drinks" package. When we got on board we found out that the advertised "free unlimited Moet by the glass" and bottle in stateroom on arrival were not available on this cruise. Why advertise it if it's not available, when we all booked it via our accounts online? This was just the first of many disappointments. There were two or three bar staff on the pool bar (and any other bar at any time) for about 3000 people trying to get a drink. Not only could these guys not mix a drink but they didn't notice who was first so were just serving whichever lout pushed in most recently. Then they refused to give you a bottle of water at the same time: "only one drink at a time", after you'd waited half an hour to get there. The staff were severely undertrained, understaffed, rude, ignorant (couldn't answer the simplest question about the ship). I agree with chopper62 (see that review too - I do not know that person but it was an accurate review) that the venues were chosen badly - the trivia quizzes, which were basically all there was to do, were held at the smallest bars on board. The large elegant star bar was not open any time I tried to go there (for example, after dinner). The "kids club" opened at 8pm in the evening so the advertised service of coming to collect your child after you had been dining an hour didn't work if you had youngsters and were eating at the only sitting the restaurant offered us, 6pm. As the show started at 7.30pm, that left the parents with two under 10's not able to relax over dinner, enjoy any shows, etc. The food in the restaurant at dinner was dreadful and the service was worse. I saw a waiter come over AFTER my sister had finished her pasta and ask: "parmesan on your meal madam?" I don't know what reality he was in, but it wasn't the same as ours. My glass of wine, ordered before the meal, arrived after the dessert. Oh, and the film, on the second day at sea, at 3pm? Gravity in 3D. Just in case we weren't seasick enough. The children's movie was on at 11pm. As was the parade of characters from Dreamworks on the first night. The whole thing was very Fawlty Towers afloat, complete with rudeness. Oh and as a final insult - the ship's photographer refused to take a photo of us on the formal dress night because "six people is the maximum in the photo". So many stupid rules. So many irritations. Never, ever, again.
