My wife and I sailed on the Silver Cloud after having enjoyed a sailing in Norway in July on one of the newer ships. We were very disappointed with the condition of the ship. The toilet in our cabin failed to flush on 3 different days. Toilets in the common areas also didn't work- especially on the pool deck which had only 0ne men's and one woman's toilet to service the pool, pool restaurant and the lounge on this deck. In fact, there were far fewer public toilets on this ship than the newer one. We complained about cabin toilets and were told we could move to a down grade cabin which had been previously inhabited by passengers who left the ship sick (duh how did they disinfect the cabin?). The electric outlets in the cabin only had room to charge one device. The "fancy" sheets that were on the beds had large stains on them. The thermostat to adjust temperature had no settings- it got very cold. The cabin rattled with noise throughout the cruise. There was only one bathroom cup because there was only one holder. The hotel manager and his staff tried their best but you can't create a new ship. Frank Sansone, Silverseas rep in Florida never answered the emails we sent from the ship or from home.
Cabin was spacious and clean. Toilet didn't always work, electrical outlets were insufficient, only one cup holder in the bathroom (so only one cup). Veranda was spacious and excellent. Bathroom and walk in closet were more than adequate.
