This was our Second Honeymoon and while we've been on many cruises, this was our first out of NYC in the middle of winter!

We took Super Shuttle from JFK into Manhattan ($43 one-way) to spend a few days before the cruise. We took a taxi from hotel (Radisson Martinique) to cruise terminal (Around $15) although they drop you off across the street and you have to cross traffic. Embarkation was fast , efficient and easy. They seemed very organized, prepared and ready for the masses. We were on before 12noon! FYI: There are NO lockers of any kind in the cruise terminal. So we had to take all our warm outerwear with us! We were into our cabin right around 1:00pm. We were delayed getting out of Manhattan (4pm edt) due to rain so we left at dusk. The views were SPECTACULAR! It was VERY COLD! The ship itself is wonderful! Clean, modern and tastefully decorated. We had an inside cabin and were pleased with location, size and service. The staff and crew are FRIENDLY and HELPFUL! It was warmer the next day at sea, but overcast. The second sea day was warmer still and about mid-day the sun came out! GLORIOUS! We ate a few times in both the Grand Pacific and Magenta, the two included resturants and found them pleasant, although The Grand Pacific service takes a bit longer. It the more formal of the two. Garden Cafe is average. Only one side of ship has seating, so it's always crowded. Food is not 24/7, so pay attention to the times they serve food. O'Sheehan's is 24/7 and the menu is great, including fish and chips! The on-board entertainment was WONDERFUL. Lots of variety, including top-named entertainers. We saw early and late shows. Go a few minutes early and your sure to get a great seat. Lots of on-board activities, so it shouldn't be hard to find something you like! The Spa is $158 for 9-days and it overlooks the bow of the ship. There is no swimming pool but the facility is huge! It includes lots of padded chairs looking out the windows, heated, stone lounge chairs, hot tub and very large hydro-pool with multiple jets. The first time we've ever seen that! There are two personal hot-tubs in the dressing room, although only one was ever open. Dry and wet sauna, the dry sauna overlooks the bow of the ship with big, glass windows, spectacular, although no light in there at night. 5 padded chairs in the dressing area, hair dryers, shower caps, shampoo, shower gel, lotion, and q-tips provided. Robes and towels provided. It's below the nightclub so keep that in mind if you use facilities after dark. Well worth the price! The gym is fantastic. The treadmills look out the huge picture windows on the port side. I saw a pod of dolphins a few hours before our arrival in San Juan! Disembarkation was easier than most, although there are always people who don't follow the announced time to line up. It's NOT necessarily the listed times, could be earlier or later depending on crowd. We were off the ship and cleared customs by 10am. It was a wonderful second honeymoon and it was so fun to get out of the cold, snowy winter and enjoy some beach time and some much needed sun! We enjoy NCL for their free-style dining and the prices! They can't be beat!
