Booking
I booked this cruise back in October 2014. My fiance and I were looking to get away during his off-season, while also on a budget, so I figured a cruise would be the best bang for our buck. This cruise was appealing to us since we've both never been to New Orleans, and he has never been on a Norwegian cruise, nor to the Western Caribbean before. We booked stateroom 8100, an obstructed view cabin mid-ship starboard side.
Embarkation
We booked an obstructed view cabin, mid-ship, starboard side. It was a decent size, with two small windows obstructed by the lifeboats. I was most impressed with the size of the shower in the bathroom. It's probably the largest shower stall I've ever seen across RCCL, CCL, and NCL. I also noticed the sliding partition door for the toilet area, however we couldn't use it because it would fall off its tracks when you tried to close it. I almost got stuck and my fiance had to bail me out. There is plenty of storage in the stateroom. Once we were unpacked, I still had so many compartments left empty. Our stateroom steward, Robin, was quite friendly and helpful. Early in the week we did have an issue with our toilet not flushing, and later in the week we had an issue with the safe not opening. Robin took care of the issues immediately (notifying the appropriate departments and getting the issues resolved) and then following up to make sure the issues were corrected and nothing else was wrong.
