Our balcony view room, next to our travel-mates, was wonderful! Every vista was jaw-dropping! (Did you know that most glaciers are BLUE!??) The main dining room was 4+ out of 5. The food was really good, but our HOSTS/ WAITERS were what made dinner a must-be-there event. They carved food; they sang songs; they served REALLY good food! And if we showed up at a different time, we were recognized immediately and served just as excellently!
The ports were very good: we went zip-lining twice. First time in Juneau, in a temperate rain-forsest: in August, there was a breeze, misty rain, and I was chilled the whole time! Since it was 99 degrees in Alabama, we were in paradise! We were served warm Blueberry tea on one of the zipline stops, which was just what we needed. They provide the raincoats and a slide show (of us) at the end. Very good excursion!
The second zipline was in Victoria, BC Canada. Victoria is on Vancouver Island (across the bay from Vancouver proper). The ground was covered in shag-carpet-style moss! It was a comforting light green, and it was everywhere! Again, easy-going staff, fun to be with, and clear about safety. August saw 80 degree temperatures, quite different from the 60 degree with wind at the port, but we were dressed in layers and very happy.
Cabin was comfortable; balcony usable during entire trip! (Since we traveled from Alabama where it is 99 degrees in if you are lucky, it was a wonderful place to view the wildlife/scenery.) Fridge stocked daily. Staff very accommodating and interested in being as visible or invisible as you wanted them. Would go again in a heartbeat!
