First time out of Charleston SC. The embarkation process was smooth, and we were able to go straight onto the ship. No waiting. Not sure if this is the norm, but we were on the boat at 11:30. The Fantasy is the oldest ship in the Carnival fleet, and looking closely, definitely showing her age. Ragged edges on deck metal, peeling paint, accent lighting loose and hanging. But our cabin was nice. Was clean. And the crew was friendly as all the other Carnival cruises we have been on. The food was good, and always available. The shows were good, but in our opinion, there was a lack of live bands. Acoustic singers yes, but we like bands. May be because it was a 5 day. Will not comment on weather or sea conditions, because no one has control of those things. But was interesting sailing through the bottom edge of the storm that dumped all the snow on Boston. I enjoyed it. Others did not share my enthusiasm. Overall, it was a good time and got us away from the snow. The Fantasy needs some TLC. But the crew is what makes the ship, and they did a great job in our opinion. Given the chance, would go on the Fantasy again.
The room was nice. Bed was comfy. Had a flat screen tv. This is not the kind of room you want to spend your cruise in. If you want that, get a balcony cabin or suite. But to shower, change and sleep and enjoy the sun, its perfect.
