I'll start with the flight, Departed from Manchester on 26/12/2014 - was a ridiculously long queue for check in even though we arrived some 4 hours before departure, I suppose it was a good job we did. Flew via Thomson on the Dreamliner with Pre-reserved Seats and can say it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Staff were friendly, and the food on board was pleasant and tasty.

Arrived at Barbados Airport and had a seamless transfer to the Port whereby we had a slight wait of about 15 minutes to Register and then embark. First impressions were that the Staff on the Port side were quiet and a little surly, and then as soon as we stepped onto the Azura I immediately had a run in with one of the Photographers who clearly thought he was David Bailey. (I was with my wife and my Parents who are in their 70's!)

We deposited our hand luggage in our Cabins and went to explore and to show my Parents what P&O could offer. As you would imagine for their first time cruising they were a little overwhelmed but still excited. We had a drink on the Top Deck, followed by our first evening meal in the buffet and by the time we went to our rooms our luggage had arrived.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin JC

We have cruised previously with P&O on board Ventura last January and again with Azura, all was as expected. The Balcony Cabin room we had was identical in layout and was kept clean and tidy by Emily our Steward. Plenty of space and storage space, and beds although not mega comfy do provide enough support for a good nights sleep. The Cabin itself was a little tired and could of done with some TLC, but as we weren't planning on spending our entire holiday in it we weren't that concerned. The Balcony is the biggest type on board and as such is a welcome place to sunbathe if you do not feel like fighting to get one of the numerous but towel covered (reserved from 6am!!!) sunbeds. The fridge isn't classed as a fridge and so does little to chill your drinks but is a welcome addition to the room. If we were to book again, this type of Cabin would be our choice.
