I was thrilled when my husband decided a cruise on the Sunshine was how we would celebrate our 20th anniversary. This was our 1st time on the Sunshine and our 2nd Carnival Cruise. I love the relaxed and fun atmosphere of the ship. The Serenity deck hot tub was one of our favorite spots to relax.

I was so happy with all the food choices on the ship. Every morning our group of 4 headed out to all the breakfast spots and met up in the Havana bar to eat. Our 2 favorites for breakfast were the omelet bar (Havana bar) and the Blue Iguana Cantina. I was very impressed with the authentic Mexican taste of the Blue Iguana Cantina food. We love food so a cruise is just our kinda thing. We ate ate Ji Ji's our first night on the ship. As soon as we walked on the ship we saw the reservation table and signed up right then. All 4 of us loved the food but if you go DO NOT miss the creme brulee at JI JI's it is so yummy! The first day we also tried Guy's Burger Joint, Blue Iguana, Italian Pasta bar, and Mongolian Wok. All were fantastic!

Our 1st day at sea we tried the pizza and loved it. Then had it just about every day after that too. This was our 1st night of checking in for the your time dining. I did not mind the check in process once we could remember where to check in and where to go to diner. Each night we checked in at the Ocean Plaza on deck five. If there was an opening in the dining room we were sent on to the dining room on deck three. If not we would get photos taken or listen to music or eat at the taste bar (giving you a taste of the feature restaurants on the ship). We often just took the stairs and skipped the elevators. Dinner in the dining room was hit and miss for me. two of the six nights we ate in the dining room my dinner was not good. The other 4 night it was fantastic.
