Embarkation

Our cruise on the Glory started with a long drive in the middle of the night to ensure we made it to Miami on time to board the ship. We chose Park n Fly for parking again because, after reading the horrible reviews for the lots closer to the port, it really is the only place we feel safe leaving our car when we cruise. Unfortunately, their shuttle only goes to the airport but they allowed us to call a cab and wait in the air conditioned lounge. We called Miami Yellow Cab, and the driver arrived within 10 minutes to take us to the port. It took forever for us to make it to the Park n Fly lot because a major thoroughfare to the airport was closed. This forced everyone onto 112, which created major traffic. I was worried we would have to sit in traffic again on the way to the port but our cab driver got us there with no traffic and even gave us a rundown of the new underwater tunnel that leads directly to the port.

We could tell immediately that they had made some improvements since the last time we cruised out of Miami on our 2012 Valor cruise. There were 4 people checking passports instead of 2. There were more security lines and they were all open. Instead of showing our passport and ID at multiple points during check-in, no one asked for it after the first time. We got up to the check in area, and were asked to fill out an Ebola screening form. Someone then checked our boarding pass and directed us into the shorter of two lines. At the desk, the agent only asked for our boarding pass and our son's birth certificate. All the room keys had been pre-printed which is a huge timesaver. She took our picture right there at the check-in desk and we got on the ship in record time for Miami.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8F

This spa balcony cabin is the same size as the other balcony cabins. We went outside to the balcony when we arrived and I immediately had to peer around the divider to tell the people in the cabin next to us that smoking was not allowed on balconies, especially spa balconies. We could still smell smoke wafting up from the Lido deck throughout the cruise but that, I could ignore. There was also occasional noise (running, chairs being moved) from the Sun deck above us but nothing major. Overall, we liked this cabin.
