I just got off the Carnival Fantasy yesterday. I have been on 17 cruises and I have been on this cruise out of Charleston 3 times. For the price of this cruise you really can not beat the deal. The best part of this cruise for my husband and myself is we live in Ohio so to get out of the cold, snow and ice. It's a 9 hour drive from our house to the port of Charleston. We leave our house a couple days before the cruise and drive down to Charleston and stay at the Hyatt Place. We stayed there for 2 nights for $60 a night. Go down to the market street in Charleston and do a horse an buggy ride $23 a person. It's an hour long tour of houses and museums and interesting facts and history. We spent the next day at Patriots Point it's has an aircraft carrier, submarine and a destroyer. More my husband idea than mine but it was fun. The weather was warm and I wasn't in snow.

On to the cruise ship. The Fantasy is one of the older ships but it is clean and easy to find everything. You don't have to walk 3 miles to go from the restaurant to the Universal lounge. The food is pretty good. (I don't have to cook it or go to the grocery store to get it.) The entertainment is just o.k. We have seen the shows more than once. The employees are very friendly and always stay busy. For me I enjoy being waited on and cleaned up after.

The 2 ports they take you to we have been to before so no big surprises here for us. We always get off the ship and walk around. Free port is the first stop. Not a lot to do unless you take a taxi into town or do an excursion. Nassau has a lot more to do and see. We always get off and walk to the Queens Staircase. It's a 20 minute walk then walk to the straw market then over to Senior Frogs.
