What a nightmare trip with THOMSON - a lying, arrogant organisation that cons their guests in such a despicable way. I am talking about the direct flight from Newcastle to Montego Bay, Jamaica on 13th January 2015. The flight was due to depart Newcastle at 9.15am and go directly to Jamaica.
First problem was the late arrival of our plane from Manchester: the reason being some technical difficulties before departure from that airport. That was 45 minutes delay. We were then informed that the plane had to return to Manchester before flying to Jamaica – the reasons mentioned over the tannoy being obscure and suspect: strong headwinds over the Atlantic meant that the plane could not fly non-stop from Newcastle and would need to be refuelled at Manchester for the long hop. On arrival at Manchester the crew deplaned and were replaced by another crew. The only problem being that the replacement crew were not aware they were going to Jamaica (they were scheduled for Bristol) so it was a bit of a surprise to them. Another 45 minutes wait for the replacement crew to be bussed in.
Meantime nobody could leave the aircraft and no services on board as the Newcastle crew were waiting to deplane. Incidentally that crew were then taxied up to Newcastle again!!
Decent enough cabin but tired and needs some refurbishment as drawers stick or fall out, can be noisy from adjacent cabins
