I have to say I was a little worried about all the bad reviews I read before we started the cruise. Maybe having lowered expectations is a good idea(as well as having a positive attitude). This is our 7th cruise( first on Royal) and everything was perfect! We were a family of 4 in a two bedroom suite(room 9394). The set up was great with an amazing view out the back of the boat. The bathrooms(we had two) were in great condition. Nothing seemed run down to us. The beds are stiff but we prefer it that way and the air conditioning was almost too powerful. Fernandez(house keeping) took really good care of us and cleaned our room as soon as we stepped out for breakfast. The coffee in the concierge lounge was really nice too.
Overall I found the food to be better than our last cruise with Disney. I ordered fish most nights and it was never over cooked. Our servers Edrin and Kimber were the best servers ever! Every night Edrin would do some Oragami for our daughter and we were never left waiting for refills etc. We ate at Giovanni's one night and although I didn't find the food much better than the main dining room, the ambience and service was lovely. My husband was happy with the wine menu. We brought several bottles with us and just paid a corkage fee but my husband found several bottles on the list he was pleased with. The food in the Windjammer was pretty well the same everyday but we never got bored because it was a large selection. I thought the salad selection was quite good( if you are willing to tour around the entire buffet) but we also only ate lunch on the boat 3 of the 7 days( which helps I'm sure).
We only saw two shows(ice and magic) which were quite hilarious( on purpose) so we were pleased( again it helps to have a positive attitude).
Great room. A little far from the elevators. Large amount of space and storage. Two bathrooms( one with bath)large balcony. Good air conditioning. Stiff beds.
