This year we decided to cruise with Carnival, as they were offering all sorts of upgrades and had the destinations we wanted to see. Our cruise agent did warn us this was a budget cruise line and don't expect much. Our room was nice and clean. We always enjoy having a balcony and used it all the time. The rest of the ship décor seemed outdated. We found the lay out of the boat is very confusing and not well organized. Our biggest disappointment was the poor quality of food and the long lines for the buffet dinner or breakfast. Same for the formal supper, the prime rib and steak had a weird texture and color. They had only had 5-6 deserts choices at anytime, never seen a jello like pumpkin pie before. The fish and chip place was nasty. It was a good thing Guy Fieri burgers and Blue Iguana burritos were excellent or we would have starved. The casino was quite smoky, sometimes you could smell it several decks up. We did tolerate it couple nights long enough to walk out several hundred dollars richer each night. We found the smoking policy not enforced at all, they had their designated areas but smoked everywhere. Same as the dress code for the formal supper, never seen a person wearing a ball cap on a elegant dress night on any other cruise line. The entertainment was okay. One plus was the staff, which were excellent, friendly and courteous. Usually we tip extra for that but since we where disappointed with the rest we didn`t. The old saying ``you get what you pay for`` applies here.
