I’ve taken a few 3 day cruises to Ensenada before, so my expectations where low.
I didn’t know that they converted the old spruce goose building into the Carnival terminal. The check-in/embarkation was the most painless process that I’ve seen.
The public area needed work( i.e. The bathroom, the railings, the windows). They need to do a better job washing windows. There are 4 hot tubs, and one main pool. The only exciting part on the ship was the water slide. Other than that, there’s really nothing special about the ship.
The three times that I’ve cruised before was on Royal Caribbean. So I was used to a couch and tiny bathroom. I was surprised at how spacious the room and bathroom was. The bathroom didn’t have the sliding door, but was a curtain rod. I had room to move around. And the water was hot. I loved itThe cabin itself didn’t have a couch. Not like I stayed in my room much. Just used it to sleep, change clothes, and shower. The stateroom attendant was really nice. When I first got there, the bed was in a king size formation. There was like no room to walk around and do anything. When I asked the attendant to change, to twin size formation, the whole room opened up. I swear these rooms were designed for friends. The closet space was tremendous. There was two separate closets with a safe. Safe was a little weird, cause you needed a card to lock/unlock. You can use your room key, which I did, but I think its safer to bring your drivers license instead. There was adequate lighting. One down side was only one plug outlet. So do bring a power strip! I have to admit, that the cabin was really quiet. I slept like a log. Not to mention the cabin was located near the center of the ship, so it wasn’t rocking much.
