My family just finished our cruise on the Oasis of the Seas on 24 January and we absolutely loved it. This was my first time on a Royal Caribbean cruise and on an Oasis class ship, though it was my mother and sister's third cruise on an Oasis class ship.

After staying overnight in Fort Lauderdale, we arrived at the port around 1100 and were able to rush through the check-in process. Admittedly the lines were short since we arrived much earlier than the 1230 embarkation time, however, as we boarded the ship at 1240 the lines looked like they were still manageable at the check-in desks. The embarkation process was far more orderly than anything I have experienced on another cruise line (I have been on 9 cruises with other cruise lines).

Once on board I was amazed by the size of the promenade deck. Luckily for me, my sister and mother already knew where to go to get some lunch, so I did not have any issues navigating within the first few minutes. There were plenty of crew available as soon as you got on the ship, so I do not doubt that it would have been easy to get directions to anywhere I wanted to go. There were many food options available as the buffet on the Windjammer, the cafes, the hot dog stand, and the Solarium were all open. We chose to eat at the Central Park cafe and there were no lines when we arrived, again it was still very early at that point. After eating a sandwich there, we headed up to the Solarium where the lines were also short. Even an hour later after looking around some parts of the ship, the lines were still short at the hot dog stand where I enjoyed a nice Sicilian sausage.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D6

Our oceanview stateroom was decently sized and easily accommodated all 3 people. Space became a little limited when the sofa bed was pulled out, however, there was still enough room in order to be able to get to the balcony. The balcony itself was a fairly standard size as balconies go. Our room was behind Johnny Rockets and when outside the room you could hear the music from the restaurant. However, when you closed the door to the room the room was quiet. Our room steward did an excellent job keeping the room clean and everything was in good repair. I would definitely try to get a similar stateroom in the future, though it might be interesting to get a Central Park balcony just to try it out.
