Having read a number of negative reviews of the QM2 on this site, I wanted to provide a different view. My husband and I took the QM2 Christmas Cruise the Caribbean this December and enjoyed it thoroughly. Embarkation at Brooklyn was a dream. We made better time out of Manhattan than we expected and arrive 45 minutes ahead of our assigned 2:30 arrival, but there was no waiting and almost no line. By 2:00 we were in our cabin!

As first-time cruisers we choice the most economical choice of an inside cabin--if this trip turned out to be a mistake, we didn't want to feel like we had spent too much money. We were very pleased with accommodations. With so much to do on board, we spent little time in the stateroom, and the weather was warm enough by the end of the first full day to be on deck. We really appreciated the storage space--clothing, books, toiletries all had a space and without "cabin clutter" the limited size of the room was not a problem. The two chairs (side and desk) were comfortable and were more than fine for our nightcap. We didn't watch TV, but I can see that TV watchers might want a bit more room, but I can't imagine spending all day watching TV with miles of ocean and sun just outside.

Overall, the QM2 seemed to us to be in good shape. Our room was not worn in any way, and the public spaces were clean. Really clean. In places the decor could be updated a bit, and I"m sure will be with the refit next year, but this in no way detracted from the overall experience.

Cabin Review

Standard Inside

Cabin IC

The cabin was more than adequate. Excellent storage maximized the space--don't forget the overhead bins above the bed and all the space on and under the end tables! The cabin was quiet; we never heard our neighbors and the ship was full! Because there's a hallway to another line of interior cabins behind this cabin, there' no one actually up again the bed wall, which was nice. The bed was in good shape. Otherwise this is exactly the same inside cabin you'll see throughout the QM2.
