After 46 cruises on various lines all over he world (in more recent years mostly on Celebrity, a RCI company) we have a pretty good overview on cruising. The Quantum is a gorgeous ship, especially dazzling because it's brand new. We took a veranda stateroom (8596), it seemed spacious and exceedingly well laid our. The balcony was large enough to hold two recliners with footrests and a small table. The crew overall was fairly cordial, with only a few exceptions. I realize RCI must have spent millions on the new features for the "wow" factor, problem is after you go on the bumper cars, iFly, Northstar, etc., see Mama Mia and the big shows (which are fabulous), there isn't much to do for all the hours in between, especially on sea days and evenings. For example, there are no enrichment lectures, and no small venue shows in the evenings to fill in the gaps for the many days after you've seen the headline shows. And the reservation process for the main shows, and also all dinners was a mess. The ship is supposed to be generally so informal ( a jacket only required in The Grande restaurant) yet all the reservations negate the possibility of being a little LESS structured. Embarkation and debarkation were not as smooth as other ships. All in all, we're not fans.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D8

Spacious, well laid out stateroom. Large enough veranda for 2 recliners with footrests and small table. Slightly larger shower than in most ships veranda cabins.
