A group of us stayed at the Westin Hotel in Fort Lauderdale the night before. It is the one on Corporate drive. I highly recommend this hotel. Clean, comfortable, a great way to start a nice cruise.

On the ship we had open seating and although there was a line each night in both the reservation and non-reservation line we were seated very quickly. (note here) If you have ten in your group you may get a chance to sit at the big round tables with the high back red chairs. A very nice experience. The food in the main dining room is very good. Each meal was prepared well and the taste was great. The serving size was not huge, but that was okay with me. I was not interested in gaining mega pounds in 7 days. The ship is large no doubt, but very easy to get around. We had a great time. Very nice shows, in particular the ice show and water shows were great. On the negative: a number of shows were cancelled or their times were moved (we made reservations before the cruise) and we were not informed about the change except in the paper on what is happening the next day. I would have been nice if a message was put on our screen in the room to alert us to this. For instance after our special night out at the Chops Grill we were scheduled to see the show CATS. When we got to the Opal theater and sat down we found out that CATS was not playing but a comedian was scheduled. We were all disappointed. When we ate at the Chops Grill and we found it to be excellent. I did see a number of negative comments, but I attribute this to be customers that ordered the aged beef and were not familiar with the differences in consistency, taste and juiceyness, of this type of meat. I ordered the non-aged steak and it was done perfect and it's taste was also perfect. On the negative side when a charge of $35 dollars a person is required there should not be any extra charges on the menu. Actually the same goes for the main dining room. Why does this menu have items with an extra charge? I think I can see the cruise industry going in this alacarte direction and I for one am not pleased about it.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D5

Overall a very nice stateroom. Fantastic room attendant! To concerns: 1. I wish RC used the over the head of the bed storage method that Celebrity uses and 2. the seat area on the couch was faded. Not a big deal but something I was not prepared to see on a ship of this caliber. One thing that might have helped the TV would have been a search engine to find things such as photos taken when onboard, tours, speciality dining etc. All of this was there, but at times was hard to find.
