Full marks to the Quest. Once you left the endless paper work of India and got on the ship all was right with the world. First of all we got an upgrade to level 6 from 4 and then we were met with helpful smiling crew and a Champaign. A wonderful way to commence a cruise and start making you feel part of a family.
The room was small and clean and the bathroom was definitely small and clean but very well maintained and the staff could not have been more helpful. After our safety demo we went to dinner and organised a Chefs Table plus 2 at a cost of $115 pp. That way we could experience both Aqualina and Prime C restaurants. In the end it was a great deal and the food and wine were brilliant but in future unless it was for a special event the food in the main restaurant and the Windows Café was so good and varied I would not bother.
By the time we got to The Andaman Islands we were in sync with the ship and reading the daily sheet “pursuits” along with Tony telling you on TV each morning helps a lot. There were some good talks which start at 9am so you need to be aware to catch them. More warning of the talk programme would definitely help. The entertainment was definitely for the 50’s plus age group but that suited us. Similarly it is not a cruise suited to young families or lots of children and that also suited us. Simon on guitar and Max on piano made the mood and struck the right cords whether it be the pool deck or the piano lounge. The ships band was as good as any in the world and the acts were very entertaining although I feel the ship is designed for the more laid back cruising where food and comfort and relaxing along with excellent destinations are prominent.
