I recently returned from the 15 day Christmas sailing from San Francisco to Hawaii. Crossing the Pacific is rough, the first day in-particular. The temperature was in the 60's and overcast most of the time, and there was some rain. Hawaii was wonderful, and the weather was wonderful mid 70's. The Star Princess was very nice. If your interested in any of the Hawaii programming, you need to wait in line to get tickets i.e. ukulele lessons, lei making, or hula. They have the best embarkation and disembarkation procedures of any ship I've been on. I've sailed on over 20 cruises. Anytime dining was fine, and service for dinner in the dining room fabulous. If you find a waiter you like, you can ask to be seated at his station each evening. In the evening they are very accommodating, at lunch however, Not So Much. If you really want something not on the menu just ask and be insistent and they will accommodate you. Crown Grill and Sabatinis are both worth eating at the service and food are incredible.
Our cabin was lovely a little small for 3 adults, but it worked out fine. Our room steward was nice and did an adequate job, but did not go out of his way. Even after tipping him when I boarded an gave him a Christmas gift.
