You know how they say that a day at sea is better than any day on land? I believed that until our January 10th, 2015 cruise on the Sunshine.
Our background: Five families, 12 kids total ages
We spent seven miserable days on this ship, if Carnival's "Great Vacation Guarantee" had applied for longer than the token 24 hours, we would have gone home. I am not faulting the medical emergency, Carnival did the right thing by seeing their guest was attended to. Switching the ports around so we could have San Juan, a more evening-friendly port first before St. Thomas? Makes total sense. but extending the time in St Thomas from seven to 13 hours and removing Grand Turk? completely senseless. Grand Turk was NOT canned because of the medical emergency, it was canned because the cruiseline decided they could get away with it. Basically the only thing to do in San Juan at night is drink, which also happens to be the only thing to do on the ship so we were already over it.

water in shower cycled hot to cold. toilet backed up. room would get very warm at night but was fine in the daytime. five people do fit nicely into this room, we just tucked the trundle under the bed each morning. there is a drawer under the couch you can use for clothes. steward is nice, don't ever expect your room service to arrive, I think they resent the lower decks.
