Returned from a 1 week cruise around the Canaries 16/1/15. We were pleasantly surprised how good the ship was considering previous very bad reviews. Embarkation was smoothe and quick. Staff extremely friendly. Outside Cabin on the small side but ok. Entertainment was very very good. Lewis the cruise director was super professional and had all round respect for staff and passengers. The special guest comedian Carl Schofield was brilliant. Purchased drinks package months before which was well worth it. Ship was very clean, plenty of nice areas to relax. Musicians were amazing throughout whole ship. Pools were lovely and clean along with the working jacuzzis. ( unlike the Dream and Celebration) Food was plentiful with a good selection of hot and cold menus. All ports were good and well worth going ashore yourselves rather than buying trips with thomson. Due to the fact we have cruised many times with various companies and have cruised on every thomson ship last year we were pleased with this smaller , older ship. Only one thing bothered us, which was very bad and unacceptable was the black soot droppings coming from the smoke funnels at rear of ship. Our towels and clothing were soiled considerably. Certainly not good trying to sunbathe on the beds in that location. The waiters etc. in main Seven Seas Restaurant were very good.

All things considered, for the price we paid for this cruise it was very good value for money.

If you want 5 star luxury with no personalised service, yes book the bigger ships, but if you want good value for money all round with personalised service Thomson are more than adequate but be prepared for ship movement and engine noise.
