Sometimes I wonder if we were all on the same ship. I figure that out of 1000 people, 950 will have a great time but not bother to write a review. Five people will have an unpleasant trip for whatever reason and tell everyone they know. Maybe 10 other people tell everyone how great things were and encourage them to go next time. Then 2 or 3 on each end of the spectrum will write a review.

Here’s mine – What a wonderful trip. The Panama Canal Transit itinerary was interesting. The staff was good to us at all times. The food was great, in all the places we ate. Variety is what makes cruising such a good choice. The entertainment ranged all over the place and I was always glad I went to the shows and the games and the small gatherings. One thing I would mention specifically, because it was so unexpected, was the Solo Traveler’s Gathering each evening at 6 PM. I was traveling with a friend and this was a great way to meet other people on the cruise (along with the cruise critic gatherings). We got to hear about everyone’s excursions, previous travels, other interests and home towns. Often we’d head off for a show or to dinner. The co-ordinator, Merecedes, was fabulous, filled with stories and good will. She’s also a pretty good dancer. Much appreciated.

I felt the excursions were too heavily focused on shopping, but then I’m not that sort of Collector. Others seemed to enjoy the opportunity and that’s good with me. I’m glad I did all the excursions that I selected. None of them were Amazing but they were all interesting, and now my last thought – When they say use Bug Spray, They Mean It!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Inside

Cabin IB

This cabin had plenty of room for two people and storage. I was happy with the shower with a door instead of a curtain. We brought an extension cord because previous reviews indicated just one plug. The location was easy to get to and quiet. We rarely saw the steward but the room was always properly made up.
