I have only been on 3 cruises including this one, so I don't have a lot to compare this cruise to. My 2 previous cruises were with Carnival Cruise Line.

The Norwegian Gem was a cruise from January 12, 2015 to January 21, 2015 round trip out of New York. Port of Calls were Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, & Tortola.

We were in stateroom 10572 (Port Side with balcony).

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

There was a little confusion on whether our room was Mid-Ship or Fwd. I booked midship (BA) with Costco Travel but our baggage tags said FWD and the map aboard said Midship. I felt it was midship. We were 4 to a room. Beds are not comfortable and the sofa bed is really uncomfortable. The room had a lot of furniture which made it difficult to fit 4 people but the Steward informed us we could move stuff out to the balcony. The balcony was nice it had enough room for 3 chairs (which 1 chair was from the room) and a table from the room. Made for great foot stool. The bathroom has a small room for the toilet which is a waste (it is extremely tiny - worse than a restroom in a NYC dive) and then a sink area and then a small shower with a sliding door to close it in. Nice format but it made it way too tiny. Hard to dress in.There is a decent size closet and shelves but only 3 drawers. The fridge is loaded with things to purchase, but you can have the Steward empty it so you can put your own stuff in, which is what we did.
