This was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime, after weeks of excitement about our dream cruise, once we boarded the ship our bubble was well and truly burst. Firstly our balcony was full of rust and dirty, the deck chairs covered with paint. The cabin interior was tired, ripped valance on the bed and stained furniture.
We were exhausted after our long flight from uk so slept the rest of the afternoon, hoping the next day we would see the rest of the ship through bright eyes. Alas that was not to be, breakfast in the dining room consisted of poached eggs adorned with hair, doorstop sliced bread toast and slow service, it can only get better, we thought. Unfortunately this seemed to be the standard of service we would endure throughout.
The whole ship is tired and maintenance is well below par, the food in both the main restaurant and the ocean grill was mediocre, usually luke warm and poor choice of dishes. There were not enough staff and some of the staff seemed tired, with a can't be bothered attitude. Quite often tables were not cleared ashtrays were never emptied. We did speak to guest relations who apologised and sent us a bottle of wine to our cabin.
Ok compared to the rest of the ship. very disappointed in the balcony dirty and rusty with painted stained chairsHowever, Lydia our stateroom attendant always ensured the room was cleaned regularly and was always smiling.
