Having cruised with Thomson before on both Destiny and Celebration we were looking forward to a fantastic Christmas cruise on Thomson Majesty. This was the first time we had been away from home at Christmas and following our experience it will also be the last. We logged our complaints prior to disembarking on 26th December 2014, and followed this up with an email on our return. I am so glad I did, because what we complained about is repeated in many reviews I have since read. In fact when I read the reviews and showed my Mother with whom I traveled, you would have thought my complaints had been taken from the reviews.

Just to confirm our complaints in brief, ship very tired and not very clean. On arrival in our cabin there was a very strong smell of sewage/dirty drains throughout the cabin which we reported. Food choice was very poor, never had a meal that was hot always only luke warm [food hygiene/safety issue]. Remember this was a Christmas cruise and at afternoon tea they were serving peanut butter sandwiches! biscuits that all looked different but all tasted the same. Christmas dinner in the restaurant was also very poor again only luke warm, service was very slow and didn't get out until 2245 so missed the 1st 15 mins of show in the theatre. There was an outbreak of what they said was Norovirus, but wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't due to the food! This outbreak caused absolute chaos, staff didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing and caused long delays in the buffet areas. There were always shortages of milk and cups at meal times. With the exception of the Entertainment staff who all worked very hard to put on excellent shows, most other staff were quite rude. We forgot to mention in our complaints about the towels, but agree with others that they were mostly threadbare and grey not white [our dog has better towels]!

Jacuzzi had dirty brown coloured water in them, when empty it looked like rust in the bottom.
