I have been on so many cruises, I cannot remember how many, 50+. Mostly Carnival. This was a very nice cruise. The ship needs some major updating. Wall paper is old and peeling, A/C did not work in over half the ship, it was either hot or cold everywhere I went, no in between. The ship is very well laid out with inside activities on decks 2 and 3 and outside fun on decks 9 and 10. I know smoking is hot topic, but Carnival allows it in designated areas, at least they could empty the ashtrays and clean the smoking areas more often. The food was good in the main dining room and at the buffets. Bar service was a little slow and much slower in the Casino. They only had 1 bartender in the Casino most of the time and it was busy. The crew was wonderful, friendly and I was impressed with how they knew my name. The ship has plenty of elevators and they worked great. Getting around the ship was easy. The music in the main lobby was too loud and you could not even speak with anyone without yelling. The guest services desk and shore excursion office was in the main lobby and it was hard to hear them. The gift shop was wonderful and had a great selection of nice stuff. The casino was busy but had all the major games and I was able to play at will. The casino staff was very friendly and bought us many drinks and I am not a high roller. Lost some money but that is what casino is for, I had a great time playing there. The shows were short and less professional than I remember on other cruises. The dancers and singers were ok but nothing great. The comedy was funny. The piano bar was a waste of time, have heard better a my daughters recitals. overall I was not impressed with the Pride, the food was good but not outstanding, the entertainment was so-so and the ship needs work.

Cabin Review

Ocean Suite

Cabin OS

The room A/C could not get the room cool. I was told that 74F is normal and that was the best it could do. I sweated all night. They worked on it several times but it just got worse. The suite was very nice, the balcony was large and the views were great. it was a very quiet room, never heard the people on either side of us. The biggest problem was the water in the bathroom. Our tub when filled was brown and smelled funny, like sewage. The shower sprayed the same brownish water and the towels turned brown when we dried off. The sinks spewed the same dung. I was afraid to shower or drink the water. Carnival sent a plumber many times but could not fix it. We were told to run the water for 15 minutes before getting in, we did and it was still brown and left a nasty ring around the tub.. Why they did not move us to another room is beyond me. In the end they gave us $200 credit on our on board charge and 10% off future cruise. The room cost me $800 more for the suite. Does not add up to me but that is Carnival. The King bed kept sliding apart during the night but was comfortable. The TV when turned on came on their channel very loud and the remote was hard to use. Apart from the water and the a/c it was a nice room.
