We journeyed down to Miami from Toronto the day before, stayed at the Marriott, Fairfield Inn,close by the airport. Had private shuttle to ship. Easy to go into building and drop off luggage. Lots of friendly port people to set you in the right direction. After an easy check in, we were on the ship by 11.40. It was absolutely jaw dropping. This is the first year for the Getaway, and wow, it was amazing. We headed up-to the spa to sign up immediately for one of their 120 all week passes to the thermal spa. This cost $199 per person. since it is $49 a day per person, we felt this was totally worth it. It includes lovely change, shower facilities, with robes, invigoration, oxygenated pools, hot tub, massage pool. It has multiple thermal beds, and lounges which face the front of the ship. There are two saunas, one being hotter than the other, a steam room, and a salt rock room, good for respiratory and skin issues. Also included, herbal teas, fresh water, and orange infused water. We spent a couple of hours everyday here relaxing. It is in this area that the spa, and hairdressing, nails, are located, and the gym, you pass on your way. They seemed to be busy all the time. This had to be the friendliest ship I have ever been on. We have been on two Carnival and two Celebrity, and we just loved Norwegian. The crew outdid themselves. You never passed any crew member without getting a hello, and a big smile. The entertainment was amazing. There was always something going on, from the atrium, which is in the middle of the ship from floors 6-8. There you can have lunch at O'Sheehans, an Irish type pub, complimentary with chicken wings, fish and chips, pub style food. You can sit up against the rail and look down to the atrium and enjoy the entertainment going on while enjoying some food, your favorite drink and beverage. Always hopping and daily specials. A couple of days they had ribs and prime rib here. No reservation required. The waterfront was neat, a deck, that had dining and bars outside, and you could listen to music and comedy shows from the inside, and have a drink or eat out there too. There is almost too muc to list on this ship. Entertainment included the Illusionarium, an amazing magic show, while you ahve dinner. This is a must do, great for everyone. Make reservations, ahead of time for this,as it fills up quickly. the ship has many amazing restaurants, and is almost overwhelming. We ate at La Cucina, Italian, fee applies, Teppenyaki, fee applies, Japanese, very entertaining and fun. There is Wasabi, a noodle bar, steak house and a Brazilian steakhouse, Le Bistro a french restaurant. These all have various fees. Book ahead or as soon as you get on the ship. They also offer a package which includes dining at all of these for a fee. The buffet was amazing in itself. So much variety of food, we didn't even get to make a dent in all that it offered. The main dining rooms are on 6, Savour and Taste, right across from each other, and the Tropicana Room on 7, which featured entertainment, larger than the first two, but all had the same menu. They offered breakfast , lunch and dinner, except in port, where they were closed at lunch. Ordered room service a couple of times, very fast. We had a cheese tray ordered to our room for $18, the small one, did us for two days. very good value. Your TV does everything, can order cruise tours, see your bill, whats going on. allover the ship they ahve interactive screens you touch. They tell you where you are, whats going on, map out things, you can make reservations for restaurants and shows, on this. Every elevator tells you where you are. there are only elevators at the front and back of the ship, so a bit more walking involved. There is tons of things to do, including, ping pong, pool, bowling lanes, rock climbing, ropes course, mini golf, walk the plank, water slides, too much to mention. The casino is alive and well when sailing but there is the smoke, which wafts down to the other levels. Uggh, wish they would do away with that. Kids could roam freely here, as this is where the games were located next to it, but we say several times minors playing the slot machines, not good, and saw underage drinking. The age is 21 on the ship, beer and wine if your parents okay it to 18-21 yrs old. There were a lot of kids on our ship, as it was A New Years Cruise. They always seemed to have lots of things for the kids to do, great water area for them, parents could sit nearby and watch. They seemed to be having a blast. If your bored on this ship, you dn't know how to have fun. The shows Legally Blonde and Burn the Floor, make reservations, both very good. went to the Grammy experience, a museum by day, and we had Sugar Blue, a Grammy artist who played the harmonica like no one I have seen before. Dueling pianos was pretty good. both fellows could play the piano, better than they could sing. Comedian s were just okay, the opener Jacob, for both of them, was young and stank. It was painful listening to him. They have a free app for the techies you put on your phone and it puts the days program, and activities, where to find things on your phone. Was not quite sure if the internet was somehow hooked up to this, but that is always available too, in the lobby, on deck 6, and I think even from your room. All in all, a beautiful amazing ship and so much to do. We can;t wait to go again, and Norwegian is now our new fav cruise line.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BB

Small room, adequate storage, a little hard to get into closet, as so close to bed. Nice TV, balcony smallest I have ever seen, but functional, two chairs and a table. Doors close really good on balcony so you don't get the wind whistling when you are out at sea. No slamming either, and doors on your cabin open out into the hallway, something different.. Very clean, Shower was nice, had a door instead of a curtain, shaving bar for women, lots of storage. rooms are not very soundproof. could hear my neighbor snoring through the wall every-night. IF your a light sleeper, bring earplugs.
