My wife and I took a vacation with RCI to the southern caribbean. Our idea of a vacation is to do something different and try new things than what we do at home. I'm confused by some of the previous reviews that 'staff was uninterested' or the ship was 'dirty.' This is certainly not the case and I would recommend that you look for specific examples or evidence from the 'critics' that support the claims of 'dirty handrails' or the specific name of an employee that was 'rude.' That being said onto the review.
Embarkation was a breeze and we were on the ship very quickly. Staterooms are typically unavailable when you get onboard and everyone runs to the windjammer. We head to the gym on every cruise to workout where the gym is totally empty. After our workout, we went to our stateroom where our luggage was waiting.
Our stateroom was clean however the couch and chairs are showing some wear. The bathroom has some outdated pink colors but I could care less about the colors of a bathroom. I don't take vacations for colors in my stateroom. Our stateroom attendant was very friendly and attentive. I regularly make towel animals and leave them when we go out. The stateroom attendant enjoyed the animals I made. She even taught me how to make some more and made some very impressive towel animals that took some thought.
Lots of cabinet space, room was clean and spacious. The balcony was slightly larger than the standard junior suite because it is on the bend. Hairdryer does not work well and would turn off. Ladies, bring your own hairdryer.
