Embarcation – the ship starts boarding around 11 and the sooner you are on the sooner your vacation starts. No line for Lattitudes members, just ask someone where it is. You’ll have your first experience with the washy washy men. Your hands will have never been more sanitized than when you leave a week later. The buffet is where everyone heads for lunch and finding a table can be hard. We lunched in the MDR (main dining room) and had a leisurely meal. Bags don’t get to the stateroom until much later so bring what you need for the first few hours on board.

Ship – On deck ten, port side forward is a room with viewing into the bridge. Go during the day while at sea they close the shades at night). You can see our course and speed. We took the ship tour excursion and had access to the bridge. Our tour group waited in that room until a security officer could escort us onto the bridge. That excursion was interesting as we saw the galley, crew rec room, Garbage Jon, behind the stage and more.

There are information screens by the elevators that you can enter your cabin number and it will give you the route to get home. Even with all the drinking, I never had to use one.

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Rooms – We had a mini-suite, plenty of closet space and drawers. The empty suitcases fit under the bed. There is a mini-bar but it will be sealed when in Texas waters. The only outlet is on the desk so take an extension cord and three way plug. They give you plenty of coffee for the pot and the ice bucket was always filled. Sometimes I tip the room steward a little something extra at the beginning of the cruise, but I didn’t this time and his service was excellent. I did leave something extra in the room when we left. The walls are metal so I took some magnets. The rest of our group had a balcony stateroom (identical to our room (no tub) but everything smaller) and the inside cabin was the queen sized bed and very little extra. The toilet in the inside had very little legroom when seated
