We had a wonderful week on the lovely Regal Princess. We arrived early at port, and were pleased to discover that they were letting people embark. By noon, we were already eating lunch by the pool. We were allowed in our cabin around 1pm. The cabin had a fair amount of storage space, and my husband and I had no trouble storing our things (and we totally overpacked!). My husband then proceeded to cut his finger on the ice tongs, and we went to the medical center for a band aid. The medical center wasn't open yet, but a random crew member happened to see our plight and actually ran to his own cabin to get us a band aid!). This was indicative of our experience with the crew and staff in general--always eager to help and serve. The ship itself was beautiful, and I especially loved the photographs all along the cabin corridors taken by actual passengers while on previous cruises with Princess. We used the fitness center every morning, and had no problems ever getting a machine. The buffet had a wide variety of food, which was very tasty, but we really enjoyed the food in the dining room and specialty restaurants. There were many local Caribbean dishes, as well, which we enjoyed trying. If you want a reservation at the specialty restaurants, I would suggest booking them the first day, or you will be stuck eating at 9pm, which we had to do one evening, but it was worth it. We also did the fish and chips lunch at the Wheelhouse Bar, which was pretty good. The entertainment was fantastic-we especially enjoyed the band, Evolution, and the show, Fiera, which we thought was exceptional. The deck chairs fill up quickly, with many people dropping their things off there at 8 am, and hogging the chair all day. You really can't do anything about that, except if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Next time, we will do that, as well, especially on sea days, or you will be stuck sitting in the hot tub because it's the only seat available (like we had to). There was always something fun or interesting playing on the huge screen by the pool. We didn't get a chance to partake in the Movies Under the Stars, but next time we definitely will. My husband enjoyed having his cigars on the smoking portion of Deck 17. Churchills (the cigar lounge) had horrible ventilation. I couldn't stay in there for more than 10 seconds---but then again, I'm not a smoker. The ship is a nice mix of elegance and fun. We are already planning our next cruise on Princess. I can't say enough good things about it.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Balcony

Cabin DD

Our cabin was great. Very comfy, spotless, and more than enough room to stow our things. We felt like idiots because we couldn't figure out how to turn the lights on. Luckily, our cabin steward, Luis (he was awesome), was walking by and explained that we had to put our key card in the slot for the lights to turn on lol! People complained that the balconies are small, but we found them quite adequate. They had two chairs and a small table, which was fine. We weren't planning on doing the tango out there anyway! Being towards the bow, we did feel the rocking of the ship, but we actually like that. It was very quiet, as well.
