This was our 24th cruise and 2nd on Celebrity. Embarkation was longer then what we experienced on other cruise lines. If you want great service and an elegance then Celebrity is for you. Even the buffet restaurant (Ocean View) was spacious and laid out very well to accommodate the passengers and had great food. The ship and cabins were clean, classy looking and the crew was very friendly and respectful. You constantly saw someone polishing and wiping down the stairways. Our cabin steward Jesse and his helper were excellent. They insisted that we not enter our cabin until they finished vacuuming the cabin. That was nice compared to what we went thru on the Allure of the Seas. All chairs for sunbathing had cushions. The Solarium was a nice quite place to catch some zzzz's.
However, a few negatives, they need to do a better job with their entertainment. I don't know how many times you can watch dancers do the same moves over and over and over again. Shows were boring. Another annoying issue they need to address was that when you went by their shops on decks 4 & 5 is was like going thru a gauntlet of sales people constantly reminder you of sales and drawings. It got old very quickly. Now for the big disappointment. This was our 4th New Year's cruise and was the first time we had to PURCHASE our own champagne. Even Carnival gave out free champagne on their cruises. What was surprising was that upon arrival the first day and one night where the Captain gave a toast, free wine and champagne was given to the passengers but not on New Year's Eve. This cruise was definitely for an older crowd and not for the young. Although the elegance was a welcomed site, the entertainment was boring.
