Sail Date: Dec 2014
Cabin: Ocean View

This is the first time we sailed in December (first week of). Coming home it was hard to adjust to the Christmas atmosphere. Some said there were more kids on this one because of the time of year but I didn't think so.

One complaint was I thought this was a new ship(my fault there for not checking more thoroughly). The Sunshine is a sister ship of the Breeze(which is new) we sailed on in March. However this is a remake of the old Valor. Nothing wrong with it but I would have chose the Breeze if I had known. This is a smaller ship, so everything is smaller where it counts. The pool area, the casino, the lounge.

First time sailing out of Port Canaveral. We took the Coco Beach Shuttle from the airport for $108 round trip for two. It was one of least expensive ones. It was a 15 passenger van. About an hour drive. The port itself is a mess. Too many cruise lines and a bottlenecked area. Allow plenty of time to arrive. Once in we got right through. We were on Lido deck just before noon. Our room was not ready for about 2 hours though. FYI If you arrive early you may not want to lug stuff around till your room is ready. We took on 2 bottles of champagne they did not even look in the bag to see what it was. And as always we packed some alcohol in our baggage and have not had it taken away yet.

Ocean View

Cabin 6B

We chose to upgrade to an ocean view because of the room layout. Typically we go as high as we can for the least amount. The room was on the second floor at the end, so we did a lot more walking but it was worth it. Mathematically the room was the basic size but the longer layout allowed for more room around the bed. Having a couch and small table was nice. A little more shelf space too.The hair dryer was in the top drawer and to reach the mirror you had to stretch the cord to the end. If I have room in my luggage I might bring my own next time. And again my complaint is there are no electrical outlets by the bed. So no plugging in electronics. If you want to read in bed or whatever charge the battery during the day.
