This was cruise number 15 for us. We had sailed 3 times previously with Celebrity, enjoying beautiful ships and friendly service. This ship is beautiful and very clean. However, there are opportunities for improvement in service and crew attitudes towards passengers.
Some of our same concerns have already been voiced by other Cruise Critic reviewers. For example, we experienced the same disappointment with the early closure of the lunch at Labadee. Several members of our party did not get to eat. We arrived at the island so late, we ran to get tickets to enjoy some of the island's attractions before eating. There was no notice of closing time for the buffet.
The first day of the cruise after we were already on board, we were told by fellow passengers about the ship's engine problems. It would have been much better if Celebrity had notified us prior to embarking. Because the speed of the ship was impeded, we arrived at all ports LATE. We could have planned better for the shore excursions we arranged on our own had we been informed of this problem earlier! Yes, the Cayman tendering situation is a mess! Someone in our party stood in line for over an hour and a half to get early tender tickets. There has to be a better way!
We had a lovely cabin with a large balcony. It was very quiet. There is not much room between the king bed and the wall. A large person might have difficulty getting past that spot. Even though this cabin supposedly holds four guests, I cannot see more than two people being comfortable for an entire week.
