Well this was a cruise to remember. I had read lots of reviews about the décor on the ship to not be terribly favorable. I have to say it was the ugliest Carnival Ship I have been on. The décor was redone in 2012 and it looked like it hadn't been done since 1970. Just god awful. Lots of dark and dingy areas on the ship. Low ceilings and with dark paint and fabric it just made it feel very claustrophobic. Our first night in the dining room we had the worst location possible for early seating. I had made a request earlier in the day upon boarding but was told that nothing could be done as it was a full ship. I made quite a stink about it but had to basically be quiet and wait till the next night. Thankfully the next night they moved us to a table that I had originally requested upon my booking many months earlier. It was at the rear of the ship near the windows so we had a wonderful view of the sun setting each night. Our wait staff were outstanding and couldn't do enough for us. Our room Steward and his staff were terrific (and I am sure this was in part because we always tip our Steward as soon as we get on the ship so we know they will take good care of us for the duration of the cruise). I can't recommend this enough as it does make a big difference.

We were a family of 4 with two dd ages 13 and 15. They want nothing to do with the kid clubs however half way through the cruise they both said that the kids looked nice and they should have joined but didn't want to now that we were in the middle of the cruise. Teenagers go figure.

The food on this ship was as usual very good. Never needing to spend the extra money in the Steak House (which we did 2 cruises ago and it was not worth it at all). The Guy Ferrie Burgers were pretty good and as this was a 7 day cruise with 4 ports we only had 2 days at sea which was good as there were several food stations that were not on this ship that I would have missed had we had more days at sea. We never eat at the Lido Buffet as the food just doesn't look appetizing except maybe the fruit. There was a taco bar and I do not like taco's as a general rule however on the last day at sea I decided to give it a try. Wow I was very impressed. Freshly made taco's with 3 choices of fish, chicken and pork with tonnes of choices of toppings. They were small and perfect. Highly recommend this bar along with the pizza bar.
