First, I just want to say that my husband and I have been on over 35 cruises, so we have a lot of ships, and sailings to compare with the Liberty. We love this ship - she is comfortable, clean, well laid out, and the food in the main dining room is pretty good. Cabins on Carnival are quite large compared to other cruise lines, so we always feel we have plenty of room. Because we enjoy the adult pool, the pizzeria, and the buffet, we always book an aft cabin. The only time we have a long distance to walk is when we go to a show (the theater is all the way forward) Even our dining room is aft. Very convenient! The adult pool has the pizzeria, a separate bar, a beverage station and ice cream right next to it. Along with two hot tubs, it is steps away from the buffet. There are also tables on the deck, so you can enjoy breakfast or lunch outdoors.

The new American Menu in the dining room concerned me when we booked this cruise. We had been on the Liberty in 2013 before the menu change and the food was quite good. Let me say that while the food is not GOURMET (none of the mass market cruise lines have terrific food), the food is good, there is a decent selection and the service in the dining room was excellent. We were at a table of 10 and after the first night, the waiters knew all of our names. I do not have any idea how they could remember our names so quickly especially since we changed chairs every night! Our room steward was very nice (although we did not see him often) and kept our room tidy and always brought extra towels.

This was our 2nd time on the Liberty and we just booked our third for April out of San Juan. We are diamond level on Royal Caribbean, but Carnival sends me special rates (just got a casino rate of 389pp OV for next cruise in April) and takes good care of us. We have become more loyal to Carnival than in the past. It is a good product for a fair price and we are able to travel twice per year. Any day on a ship is better than a day here in Chicago!! Especially today when the high is 5 degrees BRRRRRR
