I've had fun on all my cruises, but this one was an absolute blast! I travel solo so all my interactions are with strangers. I met some really lovely, fun people on this cruise. The side trips were excellent; I particularly enjoyed the catamaran cruises! My side trips were kayaking in St. Croix (nope, not buying a kayak. I did have a good time, but this trip I enjoyed the least); catamaran/snorkeling in Dominica (omg .. such fun on that trip. The catamaran operators were fantastic at motivating the passengers to get involved in their antics leading us in boogieing on the deck. I haven't done the macarena in years!!! LOL); river tubing in St. Kitts (another rip roaring fun time, but the ride up the mountain to the river is rough. Those who tend to get motion sick beware.); Highly recommend the champagne & lobster catamaran cruise on Grenada (another omg; was soooooo much fun!); and Megan's Bay in St. Thomas (oh my, what beautiful peaceful beach.) Shipboard was fun; the shows were excellent (the gymnasts were amazing). Food was excellent in Blu. The deck parties were fun; dancers from the shows performed a bit at those parties, but what was really nice is that the passengers and professional dancers could interact on deck .. it was fun following their lead and trying to keep up with the moves! Service from stewards and restaurant staff was outstanding. I am always excited to start a cruise, but also happy when they're done and I can go home to my own pillow, bed, bath, etc. But this time I was sad it was over. Truly had a fabulous time.

Cabin Review

Aqua Class

Cabin A1

Tried a sunset cabin for the first time and and l-o-v-e-d it! Cabin was typical but the balcony was very large. Two reclining deck chairs with ottomans and a table. Was great to have breakfast and lunch there. The cabin was 1 floor above the self serve dining and, very conveniently, there are stairways on either side of the series of sunset cabins that lead directly to that dining area. So was easy to trot down, fill a plate and bring it back up. The bathrooms on Summit are smaller than other solstice class ships, but the shower was very spacious. Not like the small round showers typically found on cruise ships. Definitely like that touch. Yes, the bathroom mirror is heated so it doesn't fog. There was a lot less traffic up and down the hall so it was quieter. So enjoyed the location of the cabin that I've already booked another cruise for 2016 ... in another sunset cabin!
