Thanks to the crew of the Jewel of the Seas for a wonderful Christmas Cruise. The JOTS is a very intimate smaller ship that we experienced some of the best customer service at sea. The Grand Suite we had was very roomy and had everything we could have wanted while on the ship. The coffee pot and hot water pot were nice touches to start off the mornings. Thank for putting a regular coffee pot in the room instead of those awful "french presses" you used to have. The room length curtain between the bed area and the living area made it easy on us to get some sleep when the one of us wanted to read or go out on the balcony. The Solarium was one of our favorite places on the ship as it was relative quiet and you could either get sun or stay in the shade very easily. The lounge chairs were also much more comfortable that the regular pool lounges.

The itinerary of the ship was interesting to us as it went to several islands we had never been to before. St Kitts, which is a very poor island had some very interesting tours that we participated in. Martinique, which is a very french island is still developing the port and has very little to do outside of snorkeling and beach going which you can do on any island.

Entertainment on the ship was very standard cruise ship fare. Cruise Director has lots of activities going on all day long. and Santa showed up with gifts for the children on Christmas Morning. Only downside to the whole cruise is that the bedding (mattress) in the room needs updating, but we heard that the ship is going into drydock after it's Alaska season for an overhaul and updating. Couple of Kudos to our room steward Ronaldo and the Concierge staff Diego and Joseph for taking care of us during a lovely week on the JOTS.

Cabin Review

Grand Suite

Cabin GS

Wonderful cabin. Very large, with heavy curtain to separate bed area from sitting area. Concierge lounge just around the corner with morning coffee and free drinks at night with finger food with both. Big enough balcony to have 2 chairs, table and padded lounge. You won't regret spending the extra money.
