We go on this cruise every year as we enjoy the Christmas festivities and ports. This was the first time on Crown, the ship famous for the noro virus outbreaks but we continued as planned even when we saw ships were switched. We find checking in to always go quick, but it's too bad they segregate "platinum" from 'elite" princess repeat guests and again ,2nd year, we were put in an uncomfortable crowded area to wait while a handful of elite were in an almost empty more comfortable waiting lounge.
We agree with other reviewer regarding problems with this ship really rocking. First time ever ever we had a cabin that creaked and had so many noises any nights were useless to try to sleep through. We noticed the loud creaking sound allover the ship especially on the ends. Maybe this ship was not built as good as Sapphire or as sound proofed, or it was our bad luck to have a noisy loud cabin. And when we entered our cabin a handle was missing for the refrigerator and a mis matched replacement knob was on a drawer, over all tacky. We should not be allowed to enter cabins until they have been looked over first. On a positive note the room steward we had was one of the best in many years of cruising we have ever had. Everything we asked for was immediately provided.
We found the ship really chilly in most areas, with 90% of restroom facilities out of order, faucets out of order, soap dispensers not dispensing and the ones working dispensed little little droplets of soap. So we wonder about the ship's noro virus precautions when lack of working facilities and soap dispensers most definitely must contribute to the enabling of the virus. It was annoying. Overall the ship appeared clean.
cabin a nightmare, constant loud creaking noises throughout the ceiling the entire week. missing handles on entry, drawers hard to pull out. Service area to the side made for early disturbances by employees starting the shifts. Only good thing close to elevators and we had a great cabin steward.
