It was our first Carnival cruise after two in Europe with NCL and were ready to try something new. This was the first cruise with the kids and the first one outside Europe so the experience was also new. We had 7 days Eastern Caribbean from Miami. One of the main questions for us was how differrent is Carnival compared to NCL and I will point that. As the NCL is Freestyle and Carnival is Fun style I found both of them relatively the same as experience. I liked the possibility in NCL to choose from several restaurants. On Splendor we had only one choice for dining in the evenings - Black Pearl. As a food and service I felt the same. The cabin 2221 seemed more spacios than expected and I liked it very much. The evening entertainment shows were a little bit poorer but probably this depends on the ship. Shops also are not the best seen in see. Else Splendor is a great ship and I liked the retractable roof was great option for the cooler nights. The kids liked the mini golf and the slide. It is hard to say something about the kids club as it was our first experience with it and my children are non-English speakers. They said to feel fine but my impression is that there was no effort for more personal treatment because of not speaking English. It is clear that for them the spelling games are difficult to understand. Carnival advertised self disembakation as prefered type but I like more the NCL type of having choise of when to disembark. Last time there on NCL Star we could choose from tags with different colours related to the different time fo disembarkation. On Splendor you receive the tags with numbers and have no choise of preffered time - you have to wait to call your number. As whole it was great cruise and I feel a liitle bit sorry that Carnival has not European operations.

Cabin Review

Porthole

Cabin PT

This was our first Carnival cruise and the first one with the kids. We had 2 cruises before with NCL and had experience with the inside cabins so we were a little bit afraid about the space. We were looking for a budget cabin and bought PT 2221 on the price of inside cabin. And it appered to be a great deal. The cabin was much bigger and deeper than the insides and was very spasious. We never experienced shortage of space and al the times felt comfortable. And there is also daylight from the portholes as a bonus. Yes, somethimes it is noisy probably from the anchor but actually it was not a big deal as it happens early in the morning only 3 days per 7 days cruise. I liked it very much and felt lucky about the decision to book this cabin.
