So this was my 2nd time on the Norwegian Epic. Sadly to say, I really don't recall too much of Epic the 1st time I took it as my experiences were marred by a bad sunburn at the beach. Basically, this time was me wanting to re-do Epic.

Embarkation was pretty simple and hassle-free at like 11:30am in the morning although being Latitude Gold also helps as you get your own line. However, we all must have arrived too early as we had to wait like 10 minutes while they called out a group number to board the ship.

We have a mini-suite this time (we had a balcony last time). The obvious main difference is that the mini-suite is a lil bigger than the balcony. The mini-suite has a bath tub (as opposed to just standing shower in balcony rooms) while the sink is next to the sofa bed or king-sized bed (depending on layout of the room) as opposed to being in front of the bed. Having recently been on the Getaway, I definitely don't like how the sink is very small on the Epic while the sinks in Getaway mini-suites are humongous. Yes the toilet and showers are separated on the Epic but you get used to it pretty fast. I, however, still prefer the bathroom to be enclosed. The room does have a lot of storage but I am not sure if I am a fan of the curvature design. Unlike the Getaway mini-suites though, the balcony on the Epic mini-suite is easily twice the size of the Getaway mini-suite balconies. Despite the spacious balcony, I don't think I spend more than 10 minutes total on the balcony throughout the entire trip. Not sure if people know this (or maybe they do?). for the sofa bed, because the curvature of the couch takes away space, simply pull out the bed more to get more space. Like the Breakaway and Getaway, Epic also requires you to insert a key card (or whatever card) for power in the room. Instead of using your room key, you can use a previously used hotel room key or something similar.
